Could there really be anything more quintessentially English than spending Easter in the Lake District, home of Peter Rabbit and inspiration for Wordsworth’s famous Daffodils poem?
Windermere is such a splendid place in Spring, the green shoots starting to appear, lambs in the fields, and the Lake ready to take you on some great sailing adventures if the weather should allow. Blissful, beautiful and ready to welcome you.
Easter marks the start of the season for visitors in the Lake District and Windermere is no exception, if you are visiting Windermere for Easter there are no shortage of things to do in this lovely Lake District Town.
Windermere Restaurant at Easter
Here is a list of a few great attractions within walking distance of our Windermere Restaurant:
Meet Peter Rabbit – The Peter Rabbit Attraction is only a hop, skip and jump away from The Urban Food House, many families stop with us for Breakfast before heading in or stop by for lunch after – (often laden with Peter Rabbit Toys from the gift shop!). Meet Peter Rabbit and all the other Beatrix Potter Characters in this unique attraction, which also on some days has free craft or story sessions for little ones.
Easter Specials – Spring is an amazing time of year to have a restaurant in the Lake District and we love to share the delicious food and celebratory aspect of dining in Windermere at this special time of year. Check our menus for what’s on and the specials boards daily for chefs’ creations!
Windermere Boat Hire – With different size boats to suit any family or party Bowness Pier is a great place to experience lake Windermere from a whole new angle! With the lake being 10.5 miles long there’s a lot to see and explore. Additionally, if you don’t want to drive the board why not jump on one of Windermere lake cruises services. A way of seeing all those stunning views pass by and as you travel to any one of the towns on Lake Windermere, giving you an easy way of exploring several places like Ambleside and the attractions there before returning.
Rainy Day Options – OK, so it does sometimes rain in the Lake District! Not a problem if you like being outdoors and have all the right gear, but if you want to wait inside until the rain stops – we understand! Stop by the Urban Food House for a delicious lunch or mid-afternoon coffee and cake and watch the world (and the rain) go by! Fortunately, our Windermere restaurant is close to the local cinema, so you can head in there to catch the latest films or the holiday kids club movies while you wait for the sun to appear again.
Along with these attractions there are many walks available straight from Windemere, the cruises all stop here able to take you anywhere around Windermere Lake and there are a host of water sports that you can do on the lake itself! Windermere is a beautiful place any time of year, but Easter and Springtime are just lovely and we can’t wait to welcome you at the Urban Food House.
